According to a representative from the Mayor’s office at the 1-8-26 Balboa Park Committee meeting, the paid parking program will not be enforced for some weeks. No deadline is yet determined. I will send you an e-mail as soon as I know when enforcement will start. 

You can, of course, do what you want.  We do not want you to get a ticket.  However, Terry and I suggest you do not purchase an annual/quarterly/monthly pass and do not apply for a City discount unless we get assurance from the Mayor’s office about two civil rights and privacy issues.  Once we get assurance from the Mayor’s office, we advise you to comply with the paid parking program. 

We have asked the Mayor’s office to:

1.  Ask the City Attorney to read/reread the Terms and Conditions and Privacy Policy of the IPS Group, Inc.  The IPS is the group which collects our identifying information when we apply for an annual pass or apply for a City discount.  As you probably know, if you want to buy an annual pass or get a City discount, you have to fill in identifying information about yourself:  your name, address, phone, emergency contact, license plate number.  We have asked that the City Attorney assure us that the IPS Group, Inc., will not give to the federal government (meaning Border Patrol, Homeland Security, ICE) our identifying information without a court-issued warrant.  (The Terms and Conditions of IPS Group that we have to agree to now allow them to give our identifying info to the federal government, and we want that changed!)

2.  Not allow IPS to change the Terms and Conditions without prior written consent by the City Attorney and notification to the public.

If you have questions about the Balboa Park parking program – how it works, what you need to do to get a pass or permit, etc., you can look at the City Parks and Rec website https://www.sandiego.gov/parking/balboapark.  Or you can call the Mayor’s office at   619-236-6330.

Meeting started at 7.01 P.M. 

Presents were: Behnam, Ruben, Pj, darin , Ahmad and Patricia. And sunil was on the phone.

1: Financial statements were provided by Ruben and they are all correct and up to date.

2:  We are in process of buying 10 tables at $1500 each. These are Tournament approved Blue, Center Fold Butterfly Tables.

3: We have received 20 tall barriers. We will be recruiting members to help assemble them. Behnam will arrange. 

4: We have sold 5 tables at $450.00 each.

5: Ahmed Ghazi was unanimously  approved by the Board to replace Javid who recently resigned to the Board. Ahmed was a strong contributor to the Board last year. Congratulations to Ahmed.

6:  San Diego open tournament  will be on 23th and 24th of May 2026. We are in the process of initiating the arrangements. The San Diego Open is already posted in the Omnipong website. We recommend for our members to sign in ASAP as spaces are limited in many of the categories.

7: Our next board meeting will be on Feb 10/2026 at 6.00 P.M.

The first 2026 Mexico Open Table Tennis tournament will be held in Tijuana, Mexico at Olympic Training Center in Otay Mesa area of Tijuana from Feb 4-8. If you are interested you can find registration and event information on the Omni-pong website, https://bluespin.io/torneo/1/info . So far Colombia, Guatemala, El Salvador, Puerto Rico, Ecuador, Chile, Costa Rica and Dominican Republic have confirmed their participation in this tournament.

3: The Board position votes are in and are as fallows; Behnam was chosen as a President . Sunil was chosen as a Dir. Public Relations, and Javid was chosen as an Executive Director. 

4: We have 6 tables left for sale for $450.00 each.

5: Board members have agreed to help Behnam for the first week of January for new members registration. 

6: Parking fees will be staring on 01/05/2026.

7: Patricia has been chosen for world masters championship in Korea.

Good afternoon everyone,

I wanted to let everyone know that Balboa Park Activity Center will be closed this Thursday December 11, 2025, until 5pm for a special event.  We will reopen at 5pm for our regularly scheduled activities.  We will have signs posted around. SDTTA
