Well, it’s all over. Christian Lillieroos won Silver losing to Francisco Mendez in the Gold Medal match for over 2000 rated event. I lost the Bronze Medal match to Karl Assenmacher in the over 2000 rated event. Ray Fahlstrom and I lost our Gold Medal match to win Silver to Gayle Weikert and Shi Lin. We didn’t play well at all. Ray won Silver in his Mixed Doubles match age 75-79. I won Gold in the Mixed Doubles age 70-74 with my partner Joanne Tessler. See you all at the club.

Interesting matches: The #1 Seed Carlton Sealey from Bridge Town Barbados, rated 2276, was defeated in 5 games by #5 seed Zedplin Law, rated 2081, from Mississauga Canada.

Another unexpected competitive match was San Diego’s own Mark Adelman against the #3 seed Wilmont Goddard Rating 2134 from St. Michaels Barbados. In the over 2000 rated event, Mark went ahead 2 games to 1 only to have Goddard tie it up 2 all. Then, Mark had 4 match points but couldn’t convert and the match went to Goddard Deuce in the 5th after Mark had him 10-8 in the 5th.

Borko and Neil Smyth just got back from the Las Vegas 2010 Senior Olympic Games! Approximately 60 players participated in the games. Neil and Borko where playing doubles in the 50-54 age group and we got 1st place! Borko also clinched 2nd place in the 50-54 singles event. Good job guys!
