She represented her college, UCSD, in Plano, Texas where the event was held. Be sure to congratulate her!

Check out some of her excellent wins along the way, including victories over Sara Hazinski (rated 2438) and Marcus Jackson (rated 2445)!

Since we were closed for Earth Day, some SDTTA members decided to drive up and compete in it with some good results! Last Sunday, our very own Earl Alto and Ron Spencer took 1st and 2nd place, respectively.

NRTTC LogoAfter a tough loss to former US Men’s Singles Champion Jim Butler in the Men’s Open, long time club member Earl Alto stayed focused and became the champion of the U2500 event! Also, Teddy Tran (who consistently drives down from Orange County every weekend specifically to train in Stellan’s group) made it to the semi-finals of the Men’s Open! And guess what? He’s only 14 years old!

Well, it’s all over. Christian Lillieroos won Silver losing to Francisco Mendez in the Gold Medal match for over 2000 rated event. I lost the Bronze Medal match to Karl Assenmacher in the over 2000 rated event. Ray Fahlstrom and I lost our Gold Medal match to win Silver to Gayle Weikert and Shi Lin. We didn’t play well at all. Ray won Silver in his Mixed Doubles match age 75-79. I won Gold in the Mixed Doubles age 70-74 with my partner Joanne Tessler. See you all at the club.
